3/28/2017 7:29:00 AM Reader reflects on Trumpcare failure
To the Editor:
For 7 years, Republican obstructionists have attempted to repeal the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) more than 60 times with no option. So instead of attempting to improve health care for Americans Republicans have served the insurance and pharmaceutical industries as usual.
Instead of attempting to solve problems they created problems.
So at some point, with absolutely no help from Republicans, the details of the legislation are revealed. We know all too well in Wisconsin the Republicans do not want the public to know the details in legislation or processes like who drew the Senate or Assembly District maps in Wisconsin or how to fund the DOT or how education is defunded and taxpayer money given to private schools.
Intelligent people like previous congressional candidate Mary Hoeft, in a letter to the paper, point out the details of Trumpcare and how it would devastate health care for rural America...most Trump voters. Somebody responds with a comment about Clinton and Sanders. Say what!?
A Republican House, a Republican Senate and a Republican President couldn't get legislation passed to help Americans. Make America Great Again ... or at least just like Wisconsin?

Okay, I had to laugh at this one: "Intelligent people like previous congressional candidate Mary Hoeft".
In a comment portion of a different newspaper, she essentially accused me of not knowing what being poor was like, all because I mentioned the fact that I have an e-trade account. It was in fact in regards to the very article you mentioned that she had written about how Trump's plan would hurt rural Americans.
She knew nothing of my past and the personal hardships I and my family endured while we lived below the poverty line.
Then when given the opportunity to clarify herself, she chose to stay silent after she put her own foot in her mouth. That was the only intelligent move she made.
Intelligent people do not assume to know something that they do not know. And they certainly do not belittle those who strived to make a better life for themselves and their family. Sounds to me that she wants to keep people poor so she can advance her own warped agenda.
Intelligent people like Mary Hoeft? LOL! That's rich!!!
