The real climate-change war
As I write this Sunday morning, it clear that we are at war, and that we have entered World War III. (subscriber access)

We shall never surrender
President Obama is mad - though not apparently fighting mad - about the recent turn of world events.

Someone please help me out here
The Republican candidates might not agree on much, but they all agree on at least one thing: They all are going to cut your taxes when they are elected president next year.

It's time to ban automobiles
Every time there's a shooting, we hear liberal politicians from President Barack Obama on down call for gun control and for restricting or ending the Second Amendment rights of Americans to own a gun.

Who needs tourism?
We know, it's a stupid question, and it's not the only one being asked around town these days. Over at the Minocqua Area Chamber of Commerce, they are coming up with boatloads of stupid questions.

Our View: A glimpse of sunlight in the DNR
We suppose the good news in shoreland zoning is that the Department of Natural Resources has become involved in sorting out the new state laws.

That's right, that's the good news. In the past, when that outfit was the good news, we knew we were in trouble.

Trump or Bush will win the GOP presidential nomination
You read it here first: Either Donald Trump or Jeb Bush will win the Republican nomination - a contest that will likely be over by the time Wisconsinites get to vote on April 5.

Wisconsin is moving in the right direction
Wisconsin is moving in the right direction.

More people are working. While the national unemployment rate is 5.1 percent, the unemployment rate in Wisconsin is down to 4.3 percent, the lowest it has been since April 2001. Transparency in John Doe investigations a must
John Doe investigations are, by definition, secret. Our View: Anything but the facts, ma'am
The liberal media loves to sensationalize a story, especially when it can be shoehorned to fit its narrative of Republican cronyism and corruption, and in such cases the hacks seldom bother to let facts get in the way.

In defense of Gov. Walker
It's pathetic to see the far left, and some others, criticize Gov. Walker for running and withdrawing from the Republican presidential primary.

For Scott Walker, a zero-sum governorship
Gov. Scott Walker's spectacular fall in the presidential polls and his humiliating departure from the race should not have been surprising to anyone who has seriously followed Wisconsin politics since 2010, nor should the inevitable soon-to-follow reprise startle: The governor is done not only nationally but in Wisconsin.

Our View: The magnificent return of Inspector Clouseau
It's been a while since we have been treated to a movie about the most hilarious law enforcement investigator of all time, one Jacques Clouseau of Pink Panther fame. (subscriber access)

The end of Scott Walker?
In a recent feeble defense of Scott Walker, Oconto County Republican Party Chair Kevin Barthel called Walker a "good man" who would have been a "good President." Really?

Where is America going?
We have finally reached an open door or an opportunity to change America's "one flew over the cuckoo nest" politics.
