Gabriel (Gabe) James Klotz

Gabriel (Gabe) James Klotz, 47, of Rhinelander, passed away peacefully at his home under the care of hospice on Oct. 5, 2017. The son of the late Dennis and Fredna Klotz, he was born on Aug. 28, 1970 and was celebrated as the 500th baby born in the Osseo hospital. The youngest of nine, shortly after graduation, Gabe joined the Army and served honorably in the Field Artillery. Being analytically minded, Gabe thrived on details. Whether it was the latest changes to plumbing codes, getting a historically correct shade of black on a model airplane, or playing an Eddie VanHalen guitar solo in the correct position, Gabe painstakingly mastered them all. Gabe loved history and was well respected as a reenactor, applying his attention to detail to every piece of history he recreated. He enjoyed fly tying and fly fishing and held a very deeply rooted musical gift that made everyone smile.

Gabe is survived by his daughter Shannon and son Henry; his sisters Rosemary (Howard) Spizman of Hugo, Minn., and Rachael (Aaron) Schindeldecker of Rhinelander; his brothers Michael (Norma) Klotz of Osseo, Stephen (Joan) Klotz of Rineyville, Ky., Timothy Klotz of Rhinelander, David Klotz of Rhinelander, and Andrew (Micah) Klotz of Rosemount, Minn. He was preceded in death by his sister Katherine Call and his parents. There will be no funeral services at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simply Cremation through Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, Wisconsin 54501, 715-365-4343. Celebrating lives and healing hearts. Everyone is invited to light a candle, sign the guestbook, leave a photo or an online condolence at www.hildebrandrussfh.com
