Nancy J. Newman
Nancy J. Newman, age 77 of Rhinelander, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2017. She was born on April 12, 1940, in Racine, Wis. to Charles and Mollie Mence.
Nancy was raised in Racine and after graduating from Racine Horlick High School, she attended St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. She spent her nursing career working for Racine County at High Ridge and Ridgewood Care Centers. After retiring, Nancy moved to Rhinelander with her husband, Earl, where she was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish. She enjoyed volunteering at the Nativity Thrift Store, traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, bird watching, and reading. Nancy was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Diane (Tom) McMahon; sons, William (Amy) Newman and Larry Newman; and grandchildren, Ian, Jonathan, and David.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Earl.
Family and friends are invited to gather beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the time of committal service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at the Northland Memorial Park Garden Chapel in Rhinelander. I knew your mom and dad through my work at Associated Bank. I loved listening to them talk about car shows, wood working and your mom loved to watch (and feed) the wildlife and the river go by. I didn't know your family, but I know you were loved by your parents and that's the best memory a child can have. You are in my thoughts. Bless them both.
