Eileen DeNoble, age 82 of Rhinelander, went home to her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2018, in Rhinelander. She was born on June 25, 1936 in Wabeno, to George and Alice (Schmelling) Myers. She was raised in that area and attended schools there graduating from the Crandon High School in 1954. She was employed for many years in the kitchen at the Rhinelander High School. Eileen was a longtime member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
One of the greatest joys in Eileen's life was spending time with her family, and she was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an avid downhill skier, and enjoyed going on ski weekends with her family and friends. She was passionate about gardening, having several flower beds and a large vegetable garden at the family home, and loved to share the bounty of her garden with everyone. She loved listening to and watching the birds that came to her yard year-round, and even in her last days she watched the hummingbirds at the feeder outside her window. During the winter months when there were no gardens to tend, she spent her time making quilts, ensuring that everyone in the family had an assortment of bed quilts, "quillows", and crib quilts for the new family members. Eileen was well known in the community as an accomplished bowler, maintaining a 176 average and winning several tournaments over the span of her career. A quick witted woman who loved to share a good laugh, Eileen will be dearly missed by her family and friends."
Eileen is survived by her daughters Valerie (Denny) Foley and Michele (Gary Hopp) DeNoble, her son David (Amy) DeNoble, her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband David on March 18, 2016.
Memorial services for Eileen will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11 a.m., with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services, all at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Reverend Richard Krahn will officiate. Interment will be in the Crandon Lakeside Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the DeNoble family at www.carlsonfh.com.
