Robert "Bob" A. Piasecki

Robert "Bob" A. Piasecki, age 87, of Rhinelander, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Bob was born in Sugar Camp, on June 6, 1931, the son of Walter and Elizabeth (Symanski) Piasecki. He attended school in Sugar Camp and worked on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Alsteen at St. Kunegunda Catholic Church in Sugar Camp, on July 23, 1949. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, from 1952 until 1954. He was employed by Frito Lay and later for the Rhinelander Vault Works. Bob was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping trips to Woodbury Lake, peeling Poplar trees and shooting pool for the Retreat Bar and the Last Stop Bar. He will be dearly missed by his four children: Rocky (Cheryl) Piasecki of Mosinee, Becky (Tim) Kasten of Kaukauna, Trina L. Wiedeman (Rick Bauknecht) of Rhinelander and Timmy (Cindy) Piasecki of Rhinelander; nine grandchildren: Shane Anderson, Brian Piasecki, Jacob Anderson, Shelly Piasecki, Nick (Beth) Wiedeman, Reva (Sean) Hall, Cody and Taylor Piasecki and Sierra. Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sylvia Piasecki on Oct. 1, 2015; one grandson, Joshua Anderson; one brother, Joseph Piasecki and by two sisters, Julia and Helen. The visitation for Bob will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, located at the corner of Conro & King streets, from 11 a.m. until the noon p.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Fr. Michael Tupa and Dn. Ron Bosi will be officiating. Immediately following the Mass, everyone is invited to join the Piasecki family for a Committal Service at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. Military honors conducted by the Ray Rousseau V.F.W. Post 3143 and two United States Army representatives will follow the Committal Service. Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E.
