Robert S. DiGiacomo

Robert S. DiGiacomo, age 91, formerly of Milwaukee, for the past 9 1/2 years a resident of Hartland Terrace assisted living in Hartland, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 surrounded by his family and Hartland Terrace staff members, who have become his second family. He was born April 15, 1927 in Aurora, Minn. to Christina (Fondie) and Anselmo DiGiacomo.

After his schooling Bob served with the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He then married Betty Bowman and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage. He received a two-year degree from MSOE after he and Betty were married. Bob's favorite pastimes included playing golf and grilling for family and friends.

Bob and Betty's greatest joy was devoting their time to their children's and grandchildren's lives and supporting them in their endeavors. They especially enjoyed watching them participate in their various sports and activities over the years.

Bob's children give a special heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hartland Terrace who took special and loving care of our dad for so many years. Because our dad was such a giving person, we ask that in lieu of flowers please send donations in memory of Bob to the charity of your choice.

Robert is survived by his daughter Theresa "Terri" (Chris) Endres, his sons Denis (Terri) DiGiacomo and Michael (Mary) DiGiacomo, his grandchildren Vanessa (Jason) Sawatzke, Ryan (Jenny) DiGiacomo, Kelly Endres, Anna Marie, Anthony, Daniel, and Michael DiGiacomo; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Evan, Chase and Meghan Sawatzke and James DiGiacomo, sister Gloria Juetten, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty DiGiacomo, on Nov. 20, 2005, daughter Debra Ann, his brothers Alfred and Marino.

Visitation for Mr. DiGiacomo will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., with services following at 5 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at the Carlson Funeral Home. Deacon Richard Meier will officiate. Interment will be in the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery.

You may leave your private condolences for the DiGiacomo family at The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the DiGiacomo family.
