Ernest T. "Todd" Mountjoy Jr.

Ernest T. "Todd" Mountjoy Jr., 55 of Rhinelander, passed away Feb. 19, 2019 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital.

He was born in Kansas City, Mo. on Sept. 27, 1963, the firstborn son of Ernest "Ted" T. Sr., and Janet Mountjoy.

Todd was a graduate of the 1982 class of Rhinelander High School and attended York College, where he met his loving wife, Laura Osborne. They were joined in marriage in June of 1988 and loved each other every day of their lives.

Todd graduated from York College with a Bachelors of Arts in Theology & Religious Studies in 1993. Todd worked hard for his family and took pride in every job he did, beginning to work for York College as a janitor and worked his way to becoming York College's Library Director in 1997 after receiving his Masters of Library and Information Science from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.

Always wanting to return to Wisconsin, Todd and his family moved to Fond du Lac in 2000 where he served as the Library Director for the University of Wisconsin - Fond du Lac, and eventually returned to the Northwoods in 2010 as the Director of Library Services for Nicolet College.

Todd leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, laughter, a desire for knowledge and truth, and a love for reading. He enjoyed spending time with his family, moments of quietude and the stillness of nature, and captured his thoughts through poetry.

Todd is survived by his wife Laura, his children, Daleth (Jill), Maile (Brent) and their children, Margeaux, Lennon "Finn", and John, Sage (Justin) and their daughter, Gracie, and Elric Micaiah "Cai" (Kayla); his parents, Ted and Janet Mountjoy, and his brother, Shane (Vivian) Mountjoy, and sisters Tammy (Nathan) King, and Shelby (Jeremy) Maxwell.

Visitation services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Rhinelander Church of Christ, located at 1103 Thayer Street, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a memorial service to honor and remember his life beginning at 1 p.m.
