Charles "Chuck" Lloyd Day
Charles "Chuck" Lloyd Day, age 78 of the Town of Crescent, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019. He was born on June 8, 1940, in Rhinelander to Edwin and Alice (Shaver) Day.
Chuck served in the United States Army for 12 years during the Vietnam War Era. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Rhinelander where he was employed as a lumber handler for many years at Jerry White's sawmill. Chuck loved the outdoors and enjoyed the beauty of the Northwoods. He also enjoyed fishing and watching airplanes.
Chuck is survived by his sister, Barbara (Denny) Langlois of Rhinelander; three brothers, Mac (Connie) Campbell of Sheboygan, Ted Day of Birnamwood, and Bob (Dana) Day; brother-in-law, Jerome Ziegelbauer Sr. of Merrill; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lucy, Rosie, and Shirley; and two brothers, "Shorty" and Fred.
A memorial service for Chuck will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com) with Chuck's niece, Rev. Kimmy Rogers officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in Forest Home Cemetery in spring, 2019.
