Jimmy Campbell, age 84, of Rhinelander, died May 11, 2019, at Cumberland Heights in Rhinelander. He was born March 26, 1935, in Crandon, to Oliver and Ina (Derickson) Campbell. Jimmy was raised in Crandon and attended schools there. After his schooling he served in the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to the Crandon area. For many years Jimmy traveled weekly to New Holstein where he was employed as a machinist. He would return each weekend to Crandon. Later in life, after retiring from the machinist work, Jimmy moved to Rhinelander where he worked as a carpenter doing side jobs.
Jimmy is survived by his sister Kay (Barry) Cronce of Crandon and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Gwen, Vivian and Pat and his brothers Hilton and Harold.
Graveside services for Jimmy will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 10 a.m., at the Crandon Lakeside Cemetery.
Interment will follow in the Crandon Lakeside Cemetery. The Carlson Funeral Home (www.carlsonfh.com/715-369-1414) is handling the arrangements.
