Richard W. Kraus
Richard W. Kraus, age 80, of the Town of Stella, died Friday, June 28, 2019. He was born Aug. 1, 1938, in Milwaukee, to John and June (Radue) Kraus. He attended schools in Milwaukee, graduating from the Washington High School in 1956. After his schooling he worked as a machinist for a number of companies in the Milwaukee area. They included American Motors, the Wisconsin Motor Company and Tecumseh Motors.
Richard married the former Carol Armstrong on Jan. 27, 1962 in Milwaukee and they lived there until moving to the Rhinelander area in 1983. They purchased the Tower Tap in Starks and ran that business for twenty three years, retiring in 2005.
Richard had many interests outside of work. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the cabin in Crandon and reloading. He also loved tying flies for all types of fish, inland and the great lakes. He was always willing to help his friends and neighbors. Richard also loved his many dogs over the years whom were always with him.
Richard is survived by his wife Carol, his daughter Lisa Klaus, his son Tod (Lisa) Kraus, his grandchildren Michael and Aaron, his great-grandchildren Nicholas and Trenton, his sisters Sylvia and Christine, his special friends Tom Peter and Dan Matson, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
