Rose M. Klaver

Rose M. Klaver, age 89, of the Town of Pelican passed away at her home on Tuesday morning, May 5, 2020 with her family at her side and under the care of Ascension at Home Hospice.

Rose was born in Chicago on Monday, Jan. 19, 1931, the daughter of Charles R. and Mildred (Pavlicek) Pavlicek.

The family moved to Friendship and Rose was a 1948 graduate of Adams-Friendship High School.

She met her future husband Matthew Klaver and they were married on March 11, 1949 in Adams-Friendship.

They moved to Sugar Camp living their for two years and then in 1951 the couple moved to Rhinelander.

Rose was a member of Nativity Catholic Church and was an avid member of T.O.P.S. and a past member of Extension Homemakers. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, quilting and she loved her flower garden. Rose loved being a homemaker.

She enjoyed feeding anyone who came for a visit and was known for her homemade cinnamon rolls.

She will be remembered for making quilts for each of her family.

Rose will be dearly missed by her children: Richard L. (Linda) Klaver Sr. of Rhinelander, Marilyn R. (Dave) Newman of Princeton, Betty K. (Glenn) Slizewski of Rhinelander, Charles M. (Brenda) Klaver of Rhinelander and Carol Klaver Schultz of Tomahawk.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Evelyn Roberts of Friendship. Rose is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Matt Klaver, grandson Jake Klaver and by three brothers and three sisters.

At Rose's request, there will be no visitation or service.

A celebration of Life for Rose will take place at a later when it is once again safe to gather.
