Gloria S. Juetten

Gloria S. Juetten, age 91, of Rhinelander passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2020.

She was born on Feb. 20, 1929, in Aurora, Minn., the daughter of Anselmo and Christine (Fondie) DiGiacomo.

Gloria attended Rhinelander public schools, graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1947. She married Kenneth Juetten on July 24, 1948, at St. Mary's Church in Rhinelander and they enjoyed 50+ years of marriage before Ken's passing on March 22, 1999.

She began her career at Rhinelander Building and Loan Association after her graduation in 1947 and worked in the same profession for 45 years, retiring from Security Bank in 1992. During her career she had the privilege of working with and meeting some really wonderful people. She was also an active member of the Business and Professional Women's Club (BPW).

Gloria was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish. A long-time member of the Rhinelander Country Club - participating in the Ladies' league, bowling leagues, Stunt Nite and other community activities. Following her retirement, in addition to golfing, she enjoyed trips to the casino, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. She served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, at Grace Lodge, and at Ministry St. Mary's Hospital.

Gloria was also an avid sports fan (Badgers, Packers, and especially the HODAGS). Her greatest joy was watching and supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, no matter what sport or activity they were involved in. Her family and friends were very important to her and she cherished the times spent with them. Gloria touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed, especially by her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Kris (Don) Stroede, Jean (Ron) Mathews, both of Rhinelander, and Patti (Jerry) Seaman of Harshaw; four grandchildren, Stacy (Lonny) Schickert of Rhinelander, Brent (Kate) Mathews of DePere, Chad (Tonya) Seaman of Lakeville, Minn., and Nikki (Dave) Swanson of Boulder, Colo.; 10 great-grandchildren, Ali and Bryce Schickert; Nolan, Maisie, Hugh and Graham Mathews; Brayden and Finley Seaman; Hope and Olive Swanson; sister in-law, Delia DiGiacomo of NE; special nieces, nephews, other family; and several very special friends.

In addition to her husband Ken, Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Anselmo and Christine, and brothers, Alfred, Marino and Robert.

Gloria's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Deacons Ron Bosi and Dick Meier for your many visits, the staff at Rennes Health and Rehab Center and Ascension At Home Hospice Care for the special care and compassion you gave to our mom, especially these last four months.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Gloria will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at the Nativity Of Our Lord Catholic Church with Father Chris Kemp and Deacon Ronald Bosi officiating. Due to the ongoing pandemic attendance will be limited to 100 people, which includes Gloria's family. All in attendance are asked to wear masks. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Gloria's name to a charity of your choice. Gloria will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Juetten family at www.carlsonfh.com. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Juetten family.

I was so sorry to hear of her passing. I loved that lady. Gloria and Ken were so good to our mother, Madeline. I can see them now in Glory with the Lord, rejoicing and getting reacquainted with old friends and family. I really can! And they are young too. Not old and ailing any more. Again, I am so sorry she is gone, but know she is in good hands. We extend our sympathy in this loss. Love, Judi Tabler
