Dennis L. Kimps
Dennis L. Kimps, age 77, of Harshaw, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021. Dennis was born in Green Bay on Oct. 8, 1943, to the late Wilbur and Marilyn (Molzahn) Kimps. He was married to Betty Jane Ringwelski on June 3, 1978; she survives.
Dennis was a graduate of Green Bay West High School. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Marines. He returned to Green Bay and entered the workforce, holding various jobs throughout the Green Bay area. In the early '70s, he moved to Wausau where he began his long-time employment at Weyerhaeuser, formerly American Can.
Dennis was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting and trapping, and enjoyed working on any outdoor project that needed to be done around his property and tending to his Christmas tree farm. Dennis spent his free time shooting pool, keeping the books as league secretary for the Harshaw Men's Pool league for many years. He was also a dedicated volunteer fireman on the Town of Cassian Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane "BJ" Kimps, of Harshaw; his son, Randall Kimps, of Sebastopol, Calif.; three daughters, Renee Webb, of Wausau, Wendy Kimps, also of Wausau, and Billie Jo (Glen Waalkens) Kimps, of Rhinelander; and his brother, Milton "Buch" (Phyllis) Kimps of Green Bay.
Dennis is further survived by his granddaughter, Brittanie Robbins, of Racine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Marilyn, and an infant sister.
