Clyde C. Johnson

Clyde C. Johnson, age 82, of Rhinelander, died on Sept. 14, 2021, in Marshfield. He was born on Dec. 18, 1938, the son of Russell and Opal (Hall) Johnson. He spent a part of his youth in Kentucky and then moved to Crandon, and then settled in Rhinelander. After his schooling, Clyde served in the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander and has lived here since. He married the former Josephine Berg on March 1, 1963 in Crystal Falls, Mich. God blessed them with 51 years of marriage.

Clyde was employed throughout his lifetime as a carpenter, first for a number of different companies and then as a union carpenter. He retired in 2001. After his retirement he enjoyed "puttering" with a number of things, including small engines. He got real enjoyment from meeting and talking with others. He would talk to anyone at anytime about anything, and enjoy every minute of it, as would they.

Clyde is survived by his sons Troy Johnson and Jeff (Tammy) Johnson, his grandchildren Bryant and Addie Johnson, his brothers Sidney (Janice) Johnson and George (Janet) Johnson, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine on Oct. 14, 2014, his parents and his sisters, Ann, Edna Mae and Billie Jean.

A visitation with prayers following will be held on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home. Committal services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at the Union Grove Cemetery in Harshaw. You may leave your private condolences for the Johnson family at www.carlsonfh.com.

The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Johnson family.
