Michael R. McCormick, 64, of Rhinelander, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital with his family at his side.
Michael was born in Greenfield, on December 7, 1957, to Glen and Maryann (Fabish) McCormick. Mike was raised in Greenfield and was a 1976 graduate of Greenfield High School. Upon graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country for four years. He eventually moved to northern Wisconsin. Mike was employed at Bosacki's Boat House and it was during this time that he met his future wife, Jean Nowak. The couple married on March 25, 1994. They made their home in Rhinelander with Mike being employed at the Rhinelander Café & Pub.
He loved sports and was a huge Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He also enjoyed watching and following the Badgers and the Bucks, bowling and riding his bike.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Jean, children Kimberly (Logan) Farb of Eau Claire, Amy (Thomas) Grundmann of Krefeld, Germany, Katie (Daren) Baewer of Neenah and Steven (Heather) Waas of Madison. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Max Baewer and Gwen Waas and another grandchild on the way; siblings Robert (Ann) McCormick of Milwaukee and Scott (Charlene) McCormick of Burlington. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents Glen and Maryann McCormick.
The visitation for Michael will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021 at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until the memorial service at 3 p.m.
