William Prien

William Prien, age 70, of the Town of Sugar Camp, died on December 16, 2021 at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was born on Sept. 22, 1951, in Madison, the son of Walter and Margaret (Novak) Prien. He graduated from Three Lakes High School.

After his schooling he was drafted into the U.S Army and served in Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to the Milwaukee area, specifically Cudahy, where he was employed by the Ladish Company. He retired from Ladish in 2009.

William was a member of the St. Kunegunda Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a longtime member of the Boilermakers Union and the NRA. He loved living in the Northwoods and all it had to offer, especially the hunting and fishing. He loved to camp and the further into the woods he could go, the better.

William is survived by his daughter Josey (Mike) Schmidkunz, his sons Kevin Prien and Timothy Prien, his grandchildren Gabriell, Devon, Mayson, and Madyson, his great-granddaughter Aubrie, his sister Sandra (Tom) Habel, his two brothers Roger (Wanda) Prien and Walter Prien, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son William Jr. and his twin brother Warren along with his parents.

Visitation for William will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with memorial services following at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021 at the Carlson Funeral Home. Father Richard Rhinehart will officiate.

You may leave your private condolences for the Prien family at www.carlsonfh.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in William's name.

The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Prien family.
