James Henry Preisler

James H. Preisler, 87, of Rhinelander slipped into God's arms at 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2021 at the Friendly Village Nursing Home.

James was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 5, 1934 to Henry and Carletta Preisler. The family moved to Phelps when Jim's father became a caretaker for a prominent family in the Phelps area. Jim graduated from Phelps High School in 1952. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Austria and Germany.

After his dad passed away, Jim and his mom moved to Rhinelander. He was employed at the Rhinelander Paper Mill for 38 years, retiring at the age of 62. During this time Jim was married and raised a family of three children.

After retirement Jim began to live out his dream of spending winters in Perdido Key, Florida. While living in Florida he developed many close friendships. He loved golfing and played a round every second he could.

In his younger years Jim enjoyed deer hunting, boating, snowmobiling and fishing.
