Frank Ory Jr., age 88, of Enterprise, died on March 15, 2022, at his home. He was born on Oct. 12, 1933 on the second floor of the Mecikalski Stovewood building in Jennings, to Frank and Elsie (Meister) Ory. He attended schools in Enterprise and Rhinelander, graduating from Rhinelander High School.
After his schooling Frank went to work for the Rhinelander Paper Company in 1952. After 15 years in the mill he decided to move his family to Tennessee. A year later they returned to Enterprise where he began his logging and trucking business. He loved logging and being in the woods and he was an inspiration to his two sons who chose to follow in their dad's footsteps. He was working in the woods up until the day he died.
Frank married the former Vivian Starks on June 10, 1953 in Pelican Lake and they were blessed with 65 years of marriage and their two sons. Vivian preceded Frank in death on December 4, 2018.
Frank loved being with his family. He was proud of his boys and their families. Each year they all looked forward to deer hunting in the Enterprise area. He enjoyed fishing and his annual trips up to Lake Gogebic. He was a hard-working man who had a good sense of humor and who would help both family and friends with anything you needed.
Frank is survived by his sons Dan (Lori) Ory and Steve (Patti) Ory, his grandchildren Stacy (Brett) Sievert, Brad (Lisa) Ory, Eric (Tiffanie) Ory and Tom (Sara) Ory, his great-grandchildren Alyssa, Taylor, Camryn, Kennedy, Alexis, Nathan, Nolan, Olivia and Simon, his sister Betty Feustel, his brothers Ervin and Allen, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Mildred Ory and Joanne Hirman and his brother Joseph.
Visitation for Frank will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 10 a.m. to noon, with a prayer service following at noon, all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Enterprise Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Ory family at www.carlsonfh.com.
