John Swearingen, age 66, of Rhinelander, died on May 9, 2022, in Rhinelander. He was born on Nov. 27, 1955, in Rhinelander, the son of Mark and Frances (Lathrop) Swearingen. John was born and raised in Rhinelander and attended schools here. After his schooling he worked as an over the road trucker. After a few years he then went to work for a courier service with Wisconsin Public Service.
John's real love in life was music. He was an accomplished drummer who was known throughout the Northwoods for his talent. He played with Terry Hill, Skip Wagner in Three Lakes, for the Quiet Country Band and others. He also had an interest in collecting and riding his motorcycle.
John is survived by his brothers Randy and Thomas (Beth), his stepbrother Paul (Rita) Webster, his stepsisters Kerry Webster, Carla Webster and Brenda Truitt; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Ann Swearingen, his brother Richard Swearingen, his stepmother Shirley Swearingen, his stepbrother Lane Webster and stepsister Linda Kofron.
Graveside services will be held at the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday June 6, 2022 at 11 a.m.
The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Swearingen family.
