Louis Allen White

Louis Allen White, age 84, passed away peacefully, on July 9, 2022, at Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital, with his daughters by his side.

Louis, also known as Louie or Al, was born on Oct. 14, 1937, in Monico, to Martin William White and Magarette Marie (Hoffman) White. He married Judith Ann DeMars in June 1964. They later divorced but remained friends.

Louis is survived by his daughters, Jodi (Edward) Space, and Leah (Craig) Lau, grandchildren Nick (Tara) Alden, Rebekah (Dan) Imig, Lizabeth (Dylan) McCorkle, Celia (Nate Anderson) Space, and Ian White-Charbarneau, as well as his great-grandchildren Kalli, Emme, Averie, Cullen, Owen, and Jack. Additionally, he is survived by a sister, Lillian Kulaf, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his former wife Judy, son-in-law Bud Charbarneau, brother Martin White, sisters Belva Houle and Vivian Littleton, nephews Gary and David Littleton, and niece, Josie Littleton.

Louis proudly served his country in the United States Army on two occasions; from 1954-1957, and again from 1959-1962. During one of his stints, he was a parachutist, an activity that he continued well after his service, having logged nearly 1,000 jumps at various exhibitions and events. He lived an active and vibrant life, never sitting still for long. He loved hunting, especially deer hunting, and preparations consumed the majority of his time all fall, while awaiting the hunt. He was a gun enthusiast, collector, and dealer. All of his family members, down to his youngest great-grandchildren, have been gifted at least one gun. Louis farmed on and off over the years, primarily raising beef cattle. He worked in a variety of roles including in the trucking industry, in construction where he worked for a variety of companies, as well as in many businesses he started on his own. He could BS with the best of them. He loved shooting the breeze, having lunch with friends or his nephews, or just taking a drive and looking for the next deal. Louis had a willingness to help anyone in need, never expecting anything in return. We loved him not only for his larger-than-life personality but also for the unconditional love for his family.

Louis will be laid to rest on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Crandon Lakeside Cemetery located at 1276 North Railroad Avenue, where a graveside service with military honors will be held. Services will be officiated by Rev. Mark Gass from Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tomahawk and military honors will be conducted by the Crandon American Legion Post #94 and two representatives from the United States Army. There will be a Celebration of Life to follow at the Monico Town Hall, 2333 Forrest Street, Monico.

Our family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital for the exceptional care he received. You were all so caring and attentive and we appreciate the kindness in making sure Dad was comfortable in his final days.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, Wisconsin 54501, 715-365-4343. Everyone is invited to sign the guestbook or leave an online condolence at
