Patricia Ann Harvey, age 74, of Rhinelander, died on Wednesday Oct. 5, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Feb. 29, 1948, in Phillips, the daughter of Ivar and Lillian (Gustafson) Johnson.
Being a leap year baby she enjoyed telling people she was only 18 1/2
Pat graduated from RHS in 1966 and graduated from UW Stevens Point with a degree in Elementary Education. She met her best friend, Michael Harvey, in high school and they married on August 2, 1969.
She worked as the secretary at Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years and in the treasurer's office at the Oneida County courthouse.
She was a very talented artist who enjoyed painting, drawing, and making cards. She also loved to cross stitch, crochet and knit. She enjoyed golfing with her husband, friends and her grandson. She loved to travel with some of her favorite places being Amsterdam, Paris and Greece. She was a selfless and loving person whose greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events and activities.
Surviving Pat is her husband of 53 years, Michael Harvey; her two kids and four grandchildren Tricia (Travis) Gechas and their kids Koldyn and Kylinn Gechas of Rhinelander, Todd (Akiko) Harvey and their kids Sean and Alex Harvey of Lexington Park, Md.; her siblings Glenn (Percy) Johnson, Mary (Butch) Gregory, Kathy (Steve) Zastrow, sisters-in-law, Ethel Craig, Cindy Harvey and Sue Johnson and brother-in-law Steve Harvey and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Ivar and Lillian Johnson, in-laws Owen and Mary Alice Harvey, her brother Danny Johnson, brothers-in-law Robin Craig and Paul Olsen, niece Jaime Pontell and many aunts and uncles
The family would like to thank Dr. Jerod Bergman, Dr. Brian Hanson and the staff at Compassus,especially Crystal M, for their kindness, support and care of Pat during her illness.
Visitation for Pat was held from 10 to 11 a.m., with memorial services following at 11 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at the Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Northwoods National Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Harvey family at www.carlsonfh.com.
