Joy G. Ratliff
Joy G. Ratliff, 64, of Rhinelander, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital with her family at her side.
Joy was born in Appleton on Jan. 4, 1958 to Eugene F. and Patricia J. (Schiddel) O'Connell. She was raised in Appleton until the family moved to Aneheim, Calif. While on a visit to Eagle River to visit her uncle, Joy met Jerry Ratliff. She remained in Eagle River and eventually married Jerry at the courthouse in Rhinelander in 1985. The couple continued to live in Eagle River. They moved to the Clintonville area living there for over 20 years. They then moved to Rhinelander living here for the past seven years. Joy enjoyed fishing, hunting, shopping and loved dogs.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; mother, Patricia O'Connell of the state of Washington; two daughters, Rachuel Ratliff of Clintonville, and Tracy (Brian) Jepson of Clintonville; six grandchildren, Marie, Justin, Caylla, Tye, Tesa, and Ethan, two great-grandchildren, and by four brothers, three sisters, and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
At Joy's request, cremation has taken place.
