Donald G. Oettinger, age 58, of Rhinelander, died on Oct. 10, 2022, in Rhinelander. He was born on Aug. 10, 1964, in Rhinelander, the son of Eugene and Henrietta (Shampo) Oettinger. He attended schools here, graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1983. After his schooling he went to work for the City of Rhinelander in the street department. He was with the city for over 34 years. Don also served with the Wisconsin National Guard for 14 years.
In his spare time, Don enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved football and the Green Bay Packers and those who knew him well would say that he had "the best laugh in the world".
Don is survived by his daughters Ashley and Brianna Oettinger, his son Joshua Oettinger, his grandchildren Carmen and Parker, his sisters Bonnie (Arthur) Kotila and Connie Oettinger, his brother Michael (Ruth) Oettinger, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sherry Knutson.
A visitation for Don will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022 from noon until 2 p.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home. You may leave your private condolences for the Oettinger family at www.carlsonfh.com.
