Roger A. Marquardt, age 80, of Rhinelander, died on Dec. 16, 2022 at the Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital. He was born in Rhinelander on April 21,1942. He attended schools in Rhinelander, graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1960. He then attended UW-Stevens Point, graduating with a BS Degree in 1965. After living in Stevens Point for a number of years, Roger returned to Rhinelander where he worked as a carpenter throughout the Northwoods. He also worked as a OTR truck driver.
Roger married the former Lucinda "Cindy" Lieb on March 31, 1991, in Las Vegas, Nevada. God blessed with them with over 31 years of marriage.
Roger loved to hunt, especially geese and deer. He was fortunate to have filled two buck tags this most recent deer season. He enjoyed watching all the wildlife in the Northwoods, especially the birds, and he was an avid Packers and Brewers fan.
Roger is survived by his wife Lucinda "Cindy" Marquardt, his daughter Teresa Marquardt, his son Scott (Angela) Marquardt, his grandchildren Natalie, Maxwell, Zander and Susan, his sisters Barbara (Dennis) Johnson, Linda Thorsen, Cindy Cahak, Sylvia (James) Carlson and Karen (James) Krupa, his brothers Philip (Lynette) Marquardt, David Marquardt and Steve (Cindy) Marquardt, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Richard, and his brother, Douglas.
Visitation for Roger was held on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home. Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022 at the Carlson Funeral Home with Chaplain John Uhlarik officiating. Interment followed in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery.
