Jeffrey Alan Urquhart

Jeffrey Alan Urquhart, age 75, of Rhinelander, died on Jan. 12, 2023, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay. He was born on July 22, 1947, in Rhinelander, the son of Lyle and June (Barber) Urquhart. Jeff was raised in Rhinelander attending schools here. He graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1965 and then was drafted by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was sent to Germany and upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander.

Jeff then went to work for the Rhinelander Paper Company, retiring in 2007.

Jeff was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. He loved the Hodags, Badgers, Packers and especially the Milwaukee Brewers. His family didn't think he missed a pitch in the last thirty years.

Jeff is survived by his daughter Christy (Matthew) Pieper, his sons Jesse (Caitlin) Urquhart and Robin (Julie) Urquhart, his grandchildren Aria, Isaac, Raelynn, Elliot, Shaun and Donovan, his sisters Joni (David) Hintz and Kelly (Kelly Thiel) Thilmany, his sister-in-law Patti Urquhart, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Terry.

A visitation for Jeff will be held at the Carlson Funeral Home with graveside services following at the Northwoods National Cemetery, in the near future. I live next door to Jeff and we became very good friends, also helping each other in various ways. I wept after hearing he died. I will miss him so much.

I grew up in Rhinelander and went to school with Terry. My folks and Jeffs folks were life long friends. My nickname is Skip. My condolences to the family.
