Richard "Rich" A. Schultz

Richard "Rich" A. Schultz, age 79, of Harshaw, passed away on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Rich was born on March 10, 1943, to the late Albert and Bridie (Browne) Schultz. He was married to Cynthia Jagmin on Jan. 3, 1962; she survives.

Rich grew up in Chicago and was a 1961 graduate of St. Rita Catholic High School. After high school, Rich entered the workforce beginning employment as a butcher for Jewel Supermarket where he was employed for 10 years. He later owned and operated Curtis Key and Lock where he worked until his retirement. Rich moved to the Northwoods to enjoy his retirement years and loved to fish. He was an avid poker player and looked forward to hosting his annual poker party with his sons and friends, something he had not missed for 25 years. Rich and Cyndy traveled extensively to Europe and Alaska, and loved vacationing in Gulf Shores, Ala. Rich was a loving husband and father and cherished time he spent with his family and his close group of friends.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Cyndy Schultz, of Harshaw; his sons, Richard (Debbie) Schultz, of Bristol, and David (Jamie) Schultz, of Woodboro; and his daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Volk, of Anthony, Texas. Rich is further survived by his two grandchildren, Brystal and Colten. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bridie, and his grandson, Jonathan.

A memorial mass for Richard Schultz will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Rhinelander. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Union Grove Cemetery in Harshaw. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
