Margaret "Marge" Marlatt

Margaret "Marge" Marlatt passed away peacefully at Friendly Village Nursing Home on Jan 16, 2023 at the age of 88. Marge was born on April 30, 1934 in Portage.

She is survived by her daughter Sue (Mike) Chrisinger of DeForest; her daughter-in-law Celia Marlatt of Rhinelander; her sister Mary (George) Pitman of Greendale; her brother Russell (Judy) Shaw of Portage. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Joel (Katy) Mancl of Austin, Texas; Erin (Rohit) Chappidi of Chicago, Kara Marlatt and Dustin Marlatt. She had four great-grandchildren Lucy and Tucker Mancl and Amara and Lila Chappidi. She had two nephews, Jeff and Craig Pitman of Milwaukee, who frequently called and visited with her. She cherished those phone calls.

She was preceded in death by her son Dan and her parents Russell "Scottie" and Margaret "Peg" Shaw along with many relatives and close friends. We are confident that the reunion that took place Monday night in heaven was nothing but spectacular as she was greeted by her loved ones. We are sure her dad greeted her by singing "My Little Margie".

Marge worked for the Rhinelander school district as a secretary at South Park School from 1967 until the school closed in 2005. She adored that job. She was the "grandma" to a lot of kids for those years and loved every day that she was there. She was always seeing the kids all grown up and they'd fill her in on their lives and she just smiled. Her laugh was infectious and everyone she knew recognized that laugh. Upon retirement from school, she went to work at Trig's video. She knew every movie that came out and knew almost everyone who came in there.

Her family would like to thank Friendly Village nursing home for the love and support they gave her. The nursing staff was wonderful and so caring and made sure that she was always comfortable.

Marge will be put to rest alongside her parents in Portage at a date to be determined in the spring.

As we, her family, mourn her loss, we are eternally grateful for the time that she spent with us. We will forever love her.

Marge was my contact person when subbing janitorial at South Park. She always gave me a gift of a smile supported by a kind heart.
My prayers and condolences to her family.
Be with God Marge.
