Cora "Corky" Mavis Kahl, 92, of Rhinelander and a former resident of Harshaw, passed away on Sunday evening at Grace Lodge.
Cora was born in Waupaca County on July 6, 1930, to Ludwig and Esther (Jasman) Prill. She was raised in the Clintonville area and graduated in 1948 from Clintonville High School. She then was employed at a glove factory.
At the age of 21 Corky moved to Milwaukee and found employment at Allis Chalmers from 1951 until 1982.
On April 15, 1961, Corky married Ralph Kahl in Waukegan, Ill. The couple lived in West Allis until 1982 when they officially moved to Harshaw, living on Long Lake. In 2014, Cora moved to Grace Lodge.
Corky was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, Harshaw and was past president of the Ladies Aid at Faith Lutheran as well as serving on the Altar Guild and she had also been a Sunday School Teacher. Corky was also a past member of the Harshaw Women's Pool League and had been on a bowling league in her younger years.
Corky loved her friends and the relationships she had in Harshaw.
Surviving is her stepson, Ronald (Barbara) Kahl of Burlington, two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren, one brother, David (Vivian) Prill of Waupaca, and a sister-in-law, Alice Prill of Clintonville.
Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ludwig and Esther Prill, husband, Ralph Kahl in 1982, stepson David Kahl, two brothers, Elmer (Velda) Prill, and Dean Prill, and by two nieces, Charlotte Thomack and Susan Prill.
The visitation for Corky will take place on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, located at 9160 Church Road, Harshaw, from 11 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral service. Rev. David J. Sutton will officiate.
Immediately following the funeral service, there will be a procession to the Union Grove Cemetery for the committal service.
