Phillip John Puza, age 47, of Rhinelander, entered God's Kingdom on January 30, 2023. He was born on November 15, 1975, in Rhinelander, the son of Clarence and Susan (Briggs) Puza. He attended school in Rhinelander graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1994. He then furthered his education at Nicolet College for two years before enlisting in the United States Army.
Phil proudly served his country during the gulf wars as a member of the United States Army. He was honorably discharged after being seriously injured in the line of duty.
Phil is survived by his daughters Ashley, Valarie and Holly, his son Elias, his three sisters Leslie Lehrer, Laura (Tom) Boutelle, and Kerry (Eric) Hudgens, as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Phil was known for his generosity and his willingness to put others needs before his own. Phillip loved all sports, especially hockey. He also enjoyed skiing, fishing, cooking, and scuba diving.
Visitation for Phil will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., all at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Rhinelander.
Father Chris Kemp will be officiating. Graveside services with Honor Detail will follow at the Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw.
