Shari Rae Wolczewski - loving wife, dedicated mother, and friend of many - passed away on March 19, 2023, at the age of 69.
Shari grew up in Jennings and graduated from Elcho High School. After a chance meeting while visiting her aunt in Greenfield, she met the love of her life, David. Two short years later they would marry on June 5, 1971, in Elcho, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Shari and David would spend the next 52 years working together as they built a family and wonderful life together.
Shari and David lived in Big Bend in the beginning of their married life for almost 30 years while raising their daughter. They moved back to her hometown in Jennings and spent almost the next 20 years having a life closer to nature.
Through the years, Shari enjoyed sewing and many crafts. Cooking was a passion that she shared with her daughter. She loved shopping with her granddaughter. She enjoyed taking walks on their 40 acres, taking care of their cats, and being with family. She also enjoyed riding in their UTV with her husband David. She was always by his side, and they were very rarely apart. She was known by many and had many friends. She was always there when you needed help.
She is survived by her husband, David, their daughter, Yvonne (William) Sobieski, granddaughter, Anastasia, and brothers, Richard and Jeff Lass.
Shari was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Jean Lass, and in-laws, Gertrude and Aloysius, "Ollie" Wolczewski. She has many more loving family members.
A private memorial service with immediate family will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E.
