Dale H. Steinhardt
Dale H. Steinhardt, age 71, of Rhinelander, passed away peacefully on Monday Dec. 31, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Dale was born in Rhinelander on June 29, 1941, to Harold and Vera (Russ) Steinhardt.
He was employed as a mechanic, in construction, and for the city of Rhinelander for 31 years. Dale was a member of the National Guard from 1958 until 1962. He was united in marriage, to the former Barbara Yeater, in 1961. Dale was a member of the Rhinelander Church of Christ, where he was very honored to be a part of the Leadership Group. He enjoyed camping, loved fishing, and liked to hunt. Dale was and avid fan and proud father of his son's off road racing, as well as an avid fan and proud grandfather of watching his grandsons play baseball and basketball, and granddaughter softball. He enjoyed yearly fishing trips with his wife and friends to Minnesota, and was an avid Packer, NASCAR, and off road racing fan. Dale liked taking road trips to visit family and friends, and was a past member of a dartball league. He had built his own home and was known to be an all around handyman.
Survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara (Yeater) Steinhardt; son, Mark (Marjean) Steinhardt; daughter, Shelly (Jack) Nelson of Rhinelander; grandson, Jacob (Shannon) Nelson of Muskego; grandson, Tyler (Jenna Frank) Nelson of Coon Rapids, Minn.; granddaughter, Katlynn Nelson of Rhinelander; sister, Linda Steinhardt (Rick Ritter) of Glendale Heights, Ill.; and a brother, Ron (Jana) Steinhardt of Spokane, Wash. Also surviving are nephews, Arron Steinhardt of Spokane, Wash., and Steven Steinhardt of, Pasadena, Calif. Dale is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill (Laura) Yeater.
Funeral Services for Dale will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Schlomer officiating. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials in honor of Dale may be directed to his family for the Church of Christ. Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home, (715) 365-4343, is assisting the family with arrangements. My prayers are with you and your family, Barb. So sorry to read that Dale has passed away. You had many wonderful years together and those memories will help you get through the times ahead. We are in Florida now, but I check the obits often and that's when I read about Dale. Your friend, Lynn
