James A. Halminiak Sr.

James A. Halminiak Sr., age 67, of Rhinelander, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at his home. He was born on Feb. 3, 1945, in Rhinelander, to Joseph and Helen (Garber) Halminiak.

Jim married Mary Brunette on May 25, 1968, and together they raised their family of three children. He was an employee of Wisconsin Public Service for many years, until his retirement in 2005. Jim served with the Wisconsin National Guard. He enjoyed remodeling projects, working on his tractors, and trains. Jim will be remembered for his love of family and for his generous spirit.

Jim is survived by his wife, Mary of Rhinelander; and his three children, Joel (Brenda) Halminiak, Jessica (Steve) Denis, and James Halminiak Jr., all of Rhinelander.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Carlson Funeral Home, (715) 369-1414 / www.carlsonfh.com, is assisting Jim's family with arrangements.

Jim, Mary and their children were neighbors of ours when we lived on Itasca.

Prayers are going out to the family.

I am saddened at the loss of a favorite cousin. Jim was a unique person with a generous heart, and a good listener. All of us Garber's are going to miss him tremendously. Our prayers are with his family, which Jim loved so deeply. Our memories of Jim will stay very vivid in our minds.

Jim is my brother-in-law by marriage. He is a kind and generous person. I have visited him many a time on my vacations in Rhinelander. I admire him for his strength the past years. I will miss not being to visit with him on my next trip.

He will be missed by many.

Mary, Joel, Jessica and Jay you are in our thoughts and prayers.
