Robert C. Butler

Robert C. Butler, age 75, of Rhinelander, formerly of Meadville, Pa., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013. He was born Jan. 29, 1937 to Robert E. and Willa (Clark) Butler in Oil City, Pa. After graduating high school, Bob join the United States Marine Corp. where he was stationed in Quantico, Va. He was honorably discharged in 1957.

Bob then took a position with a national-based photography company that specialized in children's photos for several nationwide retail stores. He was later promoted to vice president of sales. After many years Bob decided to open his own company, "Butler Photography," which led to settling his family in Rhinelander in 1976. Along with the photo company, Bob opened a family pizza restaurant which was the first pizza restaurant in Rhinelander to offer home delivery. He later opened another restaurant in Antigo. Bob also had a pizza concession stand at the Hodag Country Festival from the first one held to last summer.

Bob is survived by his children Rob (Sarah) of Green Bay, Mark of Appleton and Twila Hurst of DePere; his grandchildren Courtney Butler of Appleton, Mark and Peter Hurst of Green Bay, Clark T. Butler of Green Bay; a brother, Tim (Paula) Butler of Madison, Ind.; ex-wife and friend Barbara Butler; and nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Vivian and Patricia.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Inurnment will take place in Pennsylvania.
