Roland "Rollie" Lee Richardson

Roland "Rollie" Lee Richardson, age 86, of Rhinelander, died Oct. 3, 2018 at Rennes Health and Rehab.

Rollie was born on June 10, 1932, in Rhinelander, to Howard and Louise (Fremstad) Richardson. He attended schools here graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1950.

Rollie then served with the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1955. He then returned to Wisconsin and attended college for a short period of time before returning to Rhinelander. It was at that time that Rollie went to work for the Rhinelander Paper Company. He worked for the mill for over 38 years retiring in 1994.

On Dec. 8, 1961 Rollie married Carlyn Schauder and they enjoyed 35 years of marriage before her death in 1996. On Nov. 10, 2001 Rollie married Carol Scheidegger and they have enjoyed almost 17 years of marriage.

In his spare time, Rollie had many interests. Earlier in life he enjoyed hunting and ice fishing. He has always enjoyed traveling, especially the winter trips to Florida, golfing, painting and jigsaw puzzles. Rollie was also a longtime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Rollie is survived by his wife Carol, his daughter Mary Richardson, his stepdaughters Denise Johnson, Karla Martin, Cindi (Mark) Vozka and Susan (Peter) Laing; his granddaughter Stephanie Roou, his 10 stepgrandchildren, great-grandchild Chloe, other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Carlyn, his brother Howard and stepson Kevin Curby.

Visitation for Rollie will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 from 9 to 11 a.m. with memorial services following at 11 a.m., all at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The Reverends Timothy and Kari Vadis will officiate. Interment will be in the Newbold Memorial Cemetery.
