In 1947 when I moved into the River Bend Neighborhood, Eddie was one of the first people I met. He used to walk by my house on his way to and from Rhinelander High School every day. It was before the time of school buses and he was dedicated to getting his High School education. We became quite good friends in spite of our age difference of almost 4 years and I spent a lot of time at his house. I was not much of a woodsman. Eddie was and would take me with him on a lot of his adventures. He had a1936 Dodge, which was the car I actually learned to drive in. He was like the big brother I never had. Got to know the whole Cholewinski family pretty well. We kinda separated when he went in the army. Shortly after he got out I went in. After I got married and moved back out to River Bend Road, we spent time with he and Gail before they got married. My wife was his wife's bridesmaid and I ushered at their wedding. Eddie was a good man... straight as a string and a real stand up guy. I am very sorry that he's gone, but sure he's in a better place. Rest In Peace, Friend!
