As I read "Mr. Blauert's" obituary today, I realized how truly blessed I was to have him as a teacher for so many years at Zion Lutheran School here in Rhinelander, WI in the '60's. He was my favorite teacher, putting up with our many childish ways but also guiding us through our younger years. My favorite story is how another student and I visited him in Greenleaf, just in time for butchering the chickens. That was my first (and last!) time of experiencing blood soup. I send my deepest sympathy to all his family members, and to so many others he obviously touched through his dedication to the Lord. God Bless and rest in peace "Mr" Blauert, as we always called him.
