Peter C. Day, age 80, of the Town of Pelican passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Peter was born in Maine, on Nov. 4, 1940, to Robert W. and Ruth (Cogley) Day. Peter was raised in Maine. In his adult life, he was employed as a Forest Supervisor with the United States Forest Service at Chequamegon National Forest and Nicolet National Forest for over 40 years.
Peter was a lifelong member of the Hodag Sports Club.
He enjoyed pheasant, grouse, and quail hunting; skeet shooting; Volkswagen vans; photography; buying and selling guns; gunsmithing; spirited political conversation; and his two favorite gun dog hunters: Budweiser and Blitz.
Peter is survived by his half-brother, Michael Day of Carmel, New York; and two nephews, Michael and Walter Day of Connecticut. Also surviving are other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The service for Peter will be postponed until we can gather safely.
