Loretta E. Dellenbach

Loretta E. Dellenbach, in her own words, has now kicked the bucket!

Loretta passed away on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021 at her home with her family at her side.

She was born in Rhinelander to Eugene and Ella M. (Gilbert) Gibson. She was raised in Rhinelander and attended Rhinelander schools. She was employed at Patterson's Laundry, Onson's Inn and at the Rhinelander Café & Pub, retiring in 1991. She volunteered with Headwaters Headstart. Loretta was united in marriage to Robert G. Dellenbach in January of 1948. They made their home in Rhinelander.

Loretta was a member of Grace Four Square Church.

She loved cats, had a great sense of humor, told wonderful stories, especially the one about her pet chicken Charlie. Having a pet chicken helped Loretta give up eating chicken for a long time.

She will be remembered for having a great memory.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Sandra Bruyette (Phil Karban), Terry (Patty) Dellenbach, Greg Dellenbach, Todd Dellenbach (Joanne Lawrence), Lynn (Perry) Rogers, all of Rhinelander and Karen Dellenbach (Rita Kundert) of Springfield, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Raymond (Kris) Tushoski, Tina ( Mary) Tushoski, Jason (Liz) Dellenbach, Jody ( Brock) Evenson, Cory (Christy) Dellenbach, Kevin (Veronica) Dellenbach, Craig (Emily) Dellenbach, Heather (Josh) Rogers, Nick Rogers, Alicia Plowman,& Scott (Liz) Martin; 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, George Peter of Kenosha, sisters, Jane (Harold) Garrow of Rhinelander, Elizabeth (Robert) Putnam of Florida, Jeanette Downes, Gloria (Ralph) Weinberger and Mary Horn, all of Oregon, and a dear friend who was like a daughter, Karen Statenzy. Loretta is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Dellenbach in 1993, one son Dale Dellenbach, one grandson Tylor Martin, brothers William (Betty) Gauthier, Victor and Gordon Gibson; two sisters: Josephine Gauthier and Melva (Bob) Nolte and by a brother-in-law; Dee Downes.

The visitation and service for Loretta will be private.

Interment will take place at Northland Memorial Park Cemetery.

Just think of stepping on shore,

And finding it Heaven

Of taking hold of a hand,

And finding it God's

Of breathing new air

And finding it celestial

Of feeling invigorated

And finding immortality,

Of passing from storm and tempest

To an unbroken calm,

Of waking up in Glory

And finding it home!

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, Wisconsin, 54501, 715-365-4343. Everyone is invited to sign the guestbook or leave an online condolence at www.hildebrandrussfh. com

Lynn, Greg, and family
It was my pleasure to have cared for Loretta’s medical needs for a lot of years. She was always such a pleasure. Even when she wasn’t feeling well, or when she was a little nervous, she ALWAYS had a wonderful smile. She will be fondly remembered. She set a great example for all of us.
