Bruce Wayne Carley

Bruce Wayne Carley, age 64, of Daytona Beach, Fla. passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 12 ,2021 at the Mayo Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. Bruce had Pulmonary Fibrosis and received a double lung transplant Nov. 3, 2019 at the Mayo Hospital. He fought a long hard battle and proved to be the "Batman" he was named after.

Bruce was born at the St. Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point on Aug. 20, 1956. He is a 1974 graduate of Rhinelander High School. He Joined the United States Navy just after high school. Bruce served as a core man in the Navy until his honorable discharge in 1978. After serving in the Military, he worked as a Car Salesman General Manager for the rest of his career. He retired in Daytona Beach where he enjoyed riding his Harley, going to races, concerts, golfing and spending time with his beloved dog Cypress. Bruce was always a "Happy Go Lucky" man. He cherished his family, friendships, and life. He was an outstanding baseball player as a young man, played golf like a pro, swam like a fish, and became what we would call a pool shark. He was an avid sports fan, all sports! But most importantly to him a number one Packer fan. He was a loving dad, brother, uncle, and an awesome friend. He was always laughing and cracking jokes, even in his worst hours.

Bruce is survived by, Daughter: Melissa (Diante) Carley-Coney of Atlanta. Son: Michael (Katie Mark) Carley of Rochester. Brothers: Guy (MaryJo) Carley of Eagle River. Jere Carley of Rhinelander, Sister: Cheri (Rick Miller) Carley-Phalen of Woodruff. Grandchildren: Brandon Carley and Brianna Marie Dixon of Atlanta. Hudson Carley of Rochester. Nieces: Tammy (Mike) Muller, Brenda (Brian) Lindgren. Great Nephews: Austin and Dominick Mueller. Great Niece: Dessa Moras all of Rhinelander. Lifetime friends: Karen (Rick) Spears, Teresa Spears, and Bonnie Westbrook of Jacksonville, Fla.. Kelly Bryan of New Smyra Beach, Fla. Darren Koivisto and Denny Toshuski of Rhinelander, Mark Phalen of Crandon. Many cousins: Danny, Ronnie, Karen, Phil, Butch Lester and their families. Bruce is proceeded in death by his parents Jere Guy Carley (Father), Betty Louise Carley (Mother), all Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles.

There will be no service for Bruce. The family has decided to have a Celebration of Life this summer in Wisconsin. There will be a Facebook announcement for time and place. Bruce lived life large and will be watching from above. The family welcomes anyone who would like to attend. Please feel free to share any memories on our families / Bruce Facebook page. Iím just learning of Bruceís passing. Iím so very sorry. I talked to him in February. He will be missed, such a big hearted guy. Iím glad he was my friend. 💔

Bruce put every ounce of himself into living his life. What a great guy. I can only imagine how very dearly he will be missed by all the many family and friends who loved him.
May God guide you as you go on smiling at his wonderful life lived. He was so blessed to have such a supportive sister who believed in him.
