H. Dolores "Lovey" Kosbab

H. Dolores "Lovey" Kosbab, age 91, of Rhinelander, died on June 11, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 22, 1930 in Cecil, Wis., the daughter of William and Gladys (Thompson) Kosbab. Her family moved to Rhinelander while she was a child and she attended schools here graduating from the Rhinelander High School in 1948. She then attended UW-Madison, graduating with a BA degree in 1952.

After her schooling, Lovey took a leap of faith, especially for a single woman in the early 1950s, when she moved to New York City. She lived in a small apartment in Manhattan and went to work for PanAm airlines. She was with PanAm until they were no longer in existence and then went to work for Hertz Rentals. Upon her retirement from Hertz she returned to the family homestead in Rhinelander to help care for her aging parents. She has lived here since that time.

Besides her talents as a business woman she was very talented artistically. She was a gifted painter, excelled in calligraphy and she designed thousands of cards for many different occasions.

Since her childhood, her faith in her Lord and Savior guided her throughout her life. She was a longtime member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid until just recently. She will be missed greatly by her family, friends and her church family.

Lovey is survived by her nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Mary and JoAnn.

Visitation for Lovey will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from noon to 1 p.m., with funeral services following at 1 p.m., all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Reverend Craig Weber will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Forest Home Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Kosbab family at www.carlsonfh.com. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Kosbab family.
