Sandra B. Sandvoss, age 73, of Rhinelander, died on July 2, 2022, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. She was born on Oct. 28, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Peter and Leona (Niemuth) Sandvoss. She attended schools in New York before moving with her family to Milwaukee in 1968. There she attended the U of W Milwaukee where she received a BS Degree in 1972 and then her Masters Degree, years later, in Social Work. She was employed as a social worker in Milwaukee until her retirement in1992. Sandra also received a Degree in Divinity from Cardinal Stritch. She moved to Rhinelander in 2016 after the passing of her mother and has lived here since.
Sandra was a member of the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church and also of the Secular Franciscans. She loved nature, bird watching, gardening and singing.
Sandra is survived by her sister Susan (Patrick) Miller, her brothers Paul Sandvoss and Stephen Sandvoss, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Gail and her brother Peter.
Visitation for Ms. Sandvoss will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. Father Chris Kemp will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414/www.carlsonfh.com) is serving the Sandra's family.
