RHS students attend GNC Band and Choir Honors Festival

Several Rhinelander High School students attended the 11th Annual GNC All Conference Honors Band and Choir Festival at Tomahawk High School Nov 9, school officials said in a press release.

"Music directors from the surrounding seven Great Northern Conference schools nominated approximately 20 of their top musicians to form an honors band and an honors chorus," the release states. "These 140 musicians spent the entire day rehearsing, dining and getting to know each other. The groups came together on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. to rehearse with the guest clinician/director for each ensemble. This year's guest band director was Dr. Kristin Tjornehoj of UW-River Falls and this year's guest chorus director was Dr. Andrew Last of Luther College."

The day culminated with a performance in the school auditorium. Selected students from Antigo, Lakeland, Medford, Mosinee, Tomahawk, Rhinelander and Northland Pines gave amazing performances, the release states.
