Nicolet College will offer a part-time Jail Academy starting July 18 for individuals seeking the training for a career in corrections.

Classes will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturdays for 10 weeks on the Nicolet Campus.

High school students from Rhinelander, Tomahawk, and Eagle River swept the top three spots in the recent High School Automotive Individual Competition at Nicolet College. Taking top honors were Blayden Conrad, left, from Tomahawk, placing second; Duncan Seidel, center, from Rhinelander, taking first; and Jonathan Miller, right, from Eagle River, placing third. Eighteen students from five area high schools tested their skills in diagnostics, engine performance and repair, brakes, differentials, steering and suspension, and service information.
