42nd annual Rhinelander Lions Fisheree returns to Boom Lake this weekend
The 42nd annual Rhinelander Lions Fisheree is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10 and Sunday, Feb. 11. The fishing headquarters will be the Hodag Park Boom Lake Boat Landing Pavilion with fishing on Boom and Bass Lake and part of Wisconsin River Flowage, organizers said in a press release. The rules, regulations and fishing boundaries can be viewed on the Rhinelander Chamber website at www.rhinelanderchamber.com/ or on posters at entry ticket locations.
Early entry tickets, prior to 7 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 - $15 to fish Saturday and Sunday.
Late entry tickets, up to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 - $20, to fish remainder of Saturday and Sunday; and up to 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 11 - $20 to fish Sunday event.

$500 each day for the longest northern
$200 each day for the 2nd longest northern
$150 each day for the 3rd longest northern
$100 each day for the 4th longest northern
$50 each day for the 5th longest northern
Plus prizes for longest walleye, perch, crappie or bluegill.
A kids free fishing event for hourly non-cash prizes (open to those age 11 and under) will be held each day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in addition to a drawing for a bike each day.
Kids participating in the free event are not eligible for the cash prizes unless they possess a paid Fisheree entry ticket. Interested persons are invited to stop in the pavilion for more details.
Food and raffles will be available in the park pavilion from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
The Rhinelander Lions use the funds raised from this event to support many community activities and support its mission of healthy vision, the release states.
In 2017 the Lions assisted area schools in doing vision screening of over 1,000 students. In addition, Rhinelander Lions Club contributes to or sponsors the following activities:
