4/30/2019 7:30:00 AM Michigan woman arrested in Oneida County for OWI with child passenger

A 24-year-old Bessemer, Mich. woman was arrested Saturday evening on Highway 47 and Forest Road in Rhinelander on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16.
According to a Wisconsin State Patrol press release, a trooper stopped a white Chevy Trailblazer operated by Cassandra C. Strenz, 24, of Bessemer, at approximately 9:47 a.m. Saturday for violations of speeding and following too closely.
"The trooper observed a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle and had the driver perform standard field sobriety tests," the release states. "The subject was eventually arrested for OWI-1st Offense, with a passenger under the age of 16. Another passenger in the vehicle was also arrested for illegal possession of prescription medication. The driver was booked into the Oneida County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold."
