Abigail Bostwick
of the Lakeland Times

Four people arrested following an investigation of an alleged "drug-trafficking place" in St. Germain are at various places in the criminal justice system in Vilas County Circuit Court.

Timothy O. Birchbauer, 40, St. Germain - charged with felony possession of a firearm as a felon and possession of cocaine with intent, possession with intent to deliver narcotics and maintaining a drug trafficking place as party to a crime, all felonies as well as misdemeanor possession of an illegally obtained prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and neglecting a child, all as party to crime - had his bond amended from $10,000 cash to $5,000 cash in recent court proceedings by Judge Neal Nielsen. Following several adjourned initial appearances, Birchbauer is still awaiting appointment of a public defender.

Charges against Rebecca Richter, 34, St. Germain, are felony possession with of cocaine with intent, possession with intent to deliver narcotics and maintaining a drug trafficking place, all as party to a crime and a repeat offender. Misdemeanors she faces are possession of an illegally obtained prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and neglecting a child, also all as party to a crime and as a repeat offender. She had her bond reduced from a $5,000 signature bond to a $2,500 cash bond and also still lacks a public defender.

Grace Barbolla, 23, Sayner, represented by attorney Amy O'Melia, is charged with two counts of possession of narcotic drugs, possession of methamphetamine, possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia, all as felonies, as party to a crime. She waived her preliminary hearing and awaits arraignment.

Justin Servonitz, 38, St. Germain, is charged with two counts of possession of narcotic drugs, possession of methamphetamine, second offense possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia, all as party to a crime. He also waived his preliminary hearing with public defender Chad Lynch and pled not guilty to the charges. His $5,000 cash bond was amended to $1,000 recently.

All must follow no contact rules, remain sober and follow recommendations from social services as well as specific curfews.

According to court reports, sheriff's deputies responded to a call at an Indian Trail residence in St. Germain in April. An officer found an unconscious Barbolla and administered Narcan. Drugs and paraphernalia were observed in the home and children were removed by protective services.

A few days later a no- knock warrant was executed at Birchbauer and Richter's house on Leisure Lane in St. Germain by the Vilas County Sheriff's, Lac du Flambeau and Eagle River Police Departments.

Recovered were firearms, security systems, multiple drugs and ledgers documenting drug activity as well as media devices and cash.
