Local woman in the process of being extradited to Colorado to face bail jumping charge tied to arson case
Abigail Bostwick
Of The Lakeland Times

A woman with an extensive Rhinelander residence history is set to be sent back to Colorado - her most recent address - on a felony extradition charge for violating her probation in connection with a 2018 felony arson conviction in that state.

Robyn Derwin, 50, was in Oneida County Circuit Court Dec. 20 for an adjourned initial appearance. According to court records, her attorney, Brian Bennett, requested a governor's warrant to have her returned to Colorado.

The case began when the Oneida County Sheriff's Department received a complaint from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Department in Colorado on Dec. 11 outlining Derwin's "failure (to) comply with probation" and advising there is an outstanding warrant for her arrest.

According to the warrant, Derwin is wanted for not following the terms of her probation, brought on by conviction on a charge of Arson (2) Damage of $100 or More, a felony.

In addition to the arson charge, Derwin was also charged with felony Arson (1) and Criminal Trespass to a Dwelling. Those charges were dismissed in August 2018.

She was ordered to pay victim compensation in the amount of several hundred dollars as well as court costs and serve three years' probation and one day jail for the lesser arson charge.

The warrant for failure to comply with Colorado probation was issued in June 2019. She was detained on that warrant Dec. 9.

Derwin is slated for a status review in January 2020 in Pueblo. Her bond status is currently "revoked" with a $50,000 post amount, based on Colorado court records.

Oneida County is holding Derwin on a $15,000 cash bond pending a status conference Jan. 22
