Judge grants bond modification in fatal OWI case
An Oneida County judge will allow a Stevens Point man charged in connection with a fatal drunk driving accident in Minocqua last July to drive to and from work.

According to online court records, Judge Patrick O'Melia granted Christopher A. Gore's motion for a bond modification following a hearing Tuesday afternoon in Oneida County Circuit Court. Gore also entered not guilty pleas during the Tuesday appearance. (subscriber access)

A 42-year-old Pelican Lake man charged with one count of theft in a business setting over $10,000, in connection with his employment as a gas station manager, will spend a year in jail following a plea and sentencing hearing Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Minocqua man sentenced to 15 years in prison for child sexual assault
A 37-year-old Minocqua man was sentenced last month to 15 years in prison after pleading no contest to one count of second degree sexual assault of a child. Ryan T. Boze entered his plea to the Class C felony on Sept. 15, after the results of the second of two evaluations showed that he was competent for legal proceedings. Pursuant to a plea agreement, assistant Oneida County district attorney Jillian Pfeifer agreed to ask for a sentence of no longer than 8 years in prison while defense attorney Brian Bennett was free to argue for a shorter term.
