Flags for heroes

The Rhinelander Fire Department, Monico Fire Department and Aspirus MedEvac received hand-made wooden flags Friday as a "thank you" for assisting with Home Depot's fire safety seminar in October. Carlos Martinez, a disabled veteran, made the flags. Pictured, from left to right, are Terry Williams, chief of the Rhinelander Fire Department; Bill Willig, chief of the Monico Fire Department; Greg Meyer, Monico Fire Department lieutenant, and Rebecca Martinez, store manager of Home Depot. Aspirus MedEvac, which did have a representative present for the photo, received a wooden flag with a yellow stripe.
